Help reduce damage risk from transient overvoltage with a correctly selected and installed surge protective device for a suitable existing DB.
An SPD responds to a short-duration voltage surge, limits the voltage reaching the installation and diverts surge current toward earth. This helps reduce damage risk to connected electrical and electronic equipment.
Short-duration overvoltage may result from lightning activity or electrical switching.
The device reacts quickly, clamps the voltage and creates a protective path for surge current.
Excess surge current is directed through the protective path until the event passes.
Effective earthing, correct device selection and short connection paths are important to SPD performance.

DB modification, a separate enclosure, damaged wiring or terminal repair, earthing repair, additional wiring, difficult access, premium devices or special protection requirements are outside the standard package.

Each protective device has a different job in the electrical installation.

The correct device must be confirmed after checking the supply phase, DB arrangement, earthing and existing installation. Customers do not need to select the specification themselves.
No protection can promise that. SPD helps limit transient overvoltage and reduce risk, but the outcome depends on surge severity, earthing, installation design and other protection measures.
The status indicator should be checked periodically. Request an electrician inspection if it shows end-of-life, there is visible damage, or a significant electrical event has occurred.
